L'Aventures de Petit Pierre

This assignment was a challenge for me, but a very exciting and fun one. For French 2, we were told to put together a "create your own adventure" book using the character Petit Pierre. At this more advanced level of French, I was able to begin to show my personality through out the story by adding humorous scenes, and a more sarcastic tone, which is for better or for worse. It was very challenging to put together grammatically correct sentences using different tenses, verbs and adjectives learned collectively over the course of two years. I recieved an A on this project, which I am particularly proud of. French has always been a struggle for me, and to have enjoyed a project as much as I did this one, along with all of the effort and time that was put into this work, I feel estatic reflecting back on this piece.

Letter To My Body

This was a very personal assignment for AP English junior year, to write a letter to my body based on experiences through out high school. For me especially with my background with abusing my body, it was a very emotional process, to put down on paper the relationship that I have with my own being. I think that it is clear through out the course of the essay, that there was a lot of realizations and emmotional connections made, and I feel like this was a vital step in my recover and restoration of my relationship with myself. I am very proud to have overcome so much, and to be able to reflect and understand what was going on internally as far as physical factors and mental factors through out my high school career.

Rainforest Destruction

This assignment was very vague and really allowed me to explore my specified interests within environmental science. It also gave me a chance to be creative and do a visual representation of clear cutting the rainforest, which is a major environmental issue. It was a very enlightening project as far as what people's effect on the rainforest is, and in return how the diminishing rainforests effect us. I love the environment and I love to express my learning through art, so this project choice was ideal. A powerpoint accompanied by a diarama of the before and after of clearcutting the rainforest, it took a lot of time, but overall I am very proud of the outcome of this project, it is a perfect representation of the way that I learn, which is very visual.

Art

Art has been a passion of mine for a very long time. For junior year especially it served as  a vice for coping with some serious emotional and mental issues I was dealing with. These pieces in particular I am very proud of for different reasons. The first is the picture of the fruit bowl. I am very proud of this picture because it was my first time working with chalk pastels and I feel like the result well exceeded my expectations. I also enjoyed the making of this piece greatly, it took a lot of time and patience, along with improvisation at times.

The second piece displayed is the ceramic little person. I had a lot of fun creating this little guy, the assignment was very flexible and the instruction simple, "build a figure," and so I did. I created my own idea, however, to make bendable limbs through the use of wire and my own creative abilities. This assignment did not require much time nor effort, but it allowed me to express my fun and quirky side through the use of colorful paint and vague instruction.
